Tragedy at 2005 Nationals

Christopher Powell tragically died on October 15th while in Montreal representing as a part of the Carleton mens team in the 2005 Canadian University Ultimate Championships. At 21-years of age, the sudden, unexpected loss was a tough blow to the Carleton ultimate teams as well as the other teams Chris had played with in the Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association (OCUA) leagues. Chris' dedication to the sport of ultimate frisbee and ambassador spirit whereever he played had a lasting impact on teammates, friends and family.

Chris Powell Memorial Fund

In commemoration, a memorial fund was setup at Carleton University as a lasting tribute. Donations can be made on-line at www.carleton.ca/alumni by clicking the Give Now! link on the left-hand side.
